Welcome to the 21st Century Literacy Resources wiki!
The mere definition of literacy is dramatically changing in the 21st Century and means a whole lot more than just understanding and writing written text. To prepare our students for a very dynamic and technologically sophisticated future we must also provide our students with technology and media literacy as well. This site is a collection of books, articles, lessons, and online tools you can use with your students and colleagues. To get started click on one of the on the left side of the page in the Navigation Bar.
Wikis are a community affair. Anyone can and should edit its content - including you! The resources provided are just a start, but this site can be an ongoing resource even after we leave EDML 5000. Think of it as a way to bookmark sites, lessons, and readings from which you think each of us and our students will benefit. Add your ideas and insight by clicking "Edit this Page" on any of the pages with in the site. You can also officially join this wiki by clicking "Join" at the top of the page and creating a Wikispaces account (Yes, its FREE!). If you are little stumped by this "whole wiki thing" check out Common Craft's Video - Wikis in Plain English. I've also provided a Wikispaces Training page. Finally, stop by Visitors & Authors to post a link on our Google Map.
